Lotusphere 2008: Dan Lyons Should be Fired!

Orlando, FL (Jan 23, 2008) - Dan Lyons should be fired. Not because of anything he has said or written in the past. No, this is because of his "Fake Steve Jobs" post yesterday. Filled with vulgar language, nasty phrasings and a very, very personal attack on Ed Brill, he stepped beyond the line of satire and into more into the mode of "nasty blogger" he so vehemently attacked in "Attack of the Blogs". Ed and I might not always see eye to eye on things, but I respect him as a person and for the job he does. I have zero respect for Lyons. Sure, I am just one voice that does not mean anything to Lyons or Forbes. But I am a voice that feels that Forbes has given Lyons too much free reign, and that his latest "Fake Steve Jobs" post crosses any line of decency or fair play.

This is not about his hatred of anything Lotus. This is about his inability to behave like a human in any normal sense of the word. He has taken on-line discourse to a new low for a professional journalist.
