Instant Messaging Survey Results and Free Resources

Via Michael Sampson of Shared Spaces Research and Consulting, I read a press release from Akonix and The ePolicy Institute that discusses the lack of preparedness of organizations when it comes to Instant Messaging (IM) policies. Of nearly 300 companies polled, it was found that "60% of respondents stated that they do not have any solution in place to manage employee IM use. In addition, 38% of those polled have not yet rolled out a formal IM usage policy in their organization. Even among companies that have a policy against IM use, 21% report that employees openly flout company guidelines."
